Peter Anthony
Peter Anthony is fast becoming one of Canada’s rising comedy
stars. You may have caught him at a comedy club, a college,
a corporate function or on television. It seems lately, this
2008 Canadian Comedy Award winner for “Best New Standup” is
everywhere!
On the club scene, Peter continues to push the envelope and
develop his distinctive, hilarious point-of-view. He has
graced the stages of comedy clubs throughout Canada, the US,
and in the UK. Peter’s club work has garnered him countless
credits. In his first year, Peter was chosen as a finalist
in Yuk Yuk’s Search for Canada's Funniest New Comic. As his
career began to take shape, Peter began to tour relentlessly
and has since performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival, the
Calgary Comedy Festival, the Seattle International Comedy
Competition, and twice at the Canadian Comedy Awards and
Festival. Recently, Peter entered the $25,000 Great Canadian
Laugh-off Competition and took 3rd place overall! He has
worked alongside the best in the business including Howie
Mandel, Russell Peters, and Harland Williams to name a few.
Outside of the clubs, Peter also performs as a corporate
entertainer. Past clients include The MS Society of Canada,
Nissan Canada, Tim Horton's Inc., Procter & Gamble and Bell
Mobility. Peter is constantly requested to MC corporate
events and fundraisers and continues to enjoy meeting and
interacting with business leaders from all across Canada.
If you haven’t seen Peter’s live show, you may recognize him
from his numerous television appearances including CTV’s
“Comedy Now,” CBC’s “Halifax Comedy Festival,” or various
appearances on The Comedy Network.
Alongside standup comedy, Peter’s writing career continues
to flourish. He has written for the smash game show "You Bet
Your Ass" on The Comedy Network, “TKO” for Global TV,
“Talking Funny” for CBC Radio and has penned countless
hilarious promos for several Canadian networks including
Showcase, the Food Network, and HGTV.
Comedian Peter Anthony currently lives in Toronto, but is
admittedly and happily a "small town boy" from Pictou, Nova
Scotia.
And he hardly ever complains.
Kate
Davis
"Kate sees the funny side of motherhood." --Bill MacLean -
Center Stage
"As seen on CTV and the Comedy Network "Comedy Now"
and Open Mike with Mike Bullard ."
Mother and comedian Kate Davis was once a suburban
housewife and mom. Davis one day walked into a
local comedy club, saw the talent and pronounced it
something
she could do better. The next week at amateur night she
proved herself right.
--John McKay - Canadian Press
Nominated for the 2006-2007 best female stand-up at the
Canadian Comedy Awards.
A speaker, writer, comedian, actress and mother of three,
Kate Davis has the unique ability to find humour in any
situation.
Theatrically trained in England, Kate returned to Canada to
a successful run on Canadian stage and through the many
stages of motherhood found a passion in comedy.
A five-time nominee at the Canadian Comedy Awards and star
of her own hour-long comedy special on CTV and the Comedy
Network, Kate has appeared on Breakfast Television, Star TV,
Toronto 1, Prime, WTN, TVO, CBC Radio One “The Debaters” and
The Mom Show.
Through a re-inventive outlook, Kate created successful
parenting with humour workshops. These have transformed to
the full range of presentations, exploring the positive
effects humour on life. From the corporate world to the
bedtime story, Kate’s insight and vision reveals the healing
thread of humour.
Kate
has a monthly article in the Mom and Caregiver magazine and
has been published in Today’s parent magazine. Kate is proud
to announce the release of her first book “The Breast
Feeding Diaries” with Meadowbrook Press in the USA.
Adam Christie
He may look young, but Adam Christie is one of the fastest
rising comedians in Canada. At 22, Adam has already appeared
on The Comedy Network, Much Music, CBC, Global, SunTV,
Slice, and XM satellite radio. In the last year Adam has
been nominated for the prestigious 'Tim Sims Encouragement
fund', featured on the cover of ‘Now Magazine’, and
performed at the world famous ‘Upright Citizens Brigade
Theater’ in Los Angeles, California.
